Why Did it Have to Rain Today? One of the worst ways to be introduced to the joys of reading, is to be a small kid stuck inside because of rain. Even worse, is for that day to be on a Saturday. What a surprise Jack gets after he reluctantly follows his mom's advice and begins to read. His enthusiasm is contagious as he flips through one book after another and becomes an avid reader. Donna wrote the story in such a way the reader will feel as if she/he were reading each book right along with Jack. I loved the story and feel it would be a good book to be used as an introduction to reading for children.
